In 'Body Dares', Halo Acid anatomises the body of modern man, gesturing towards the various experiences we throw ourselves into in the tracklist’s narrative. There is a tentative charge in the songs, compositionally and texturally. The noise is chipped at, distorted and coated in effects which distance the signal from the noise – bringing us closer to Halo’s perspective, which is idiosyncratic and slightly at odds with our lurid 21st century reality. The beats are rapid, breakneck – a frenzied chaotic dream at the edge of anxiety, driven by the desire to feel, discovered in drugs and romance.
